What to expect from this website and what not?

First of all, we are not going to try to sell you anything. This website and blog are free. Our editors have worked in finances years and  have been investing their own personal savings for decades in a wide range of financial products.

We created this website in order to share our experiences because we enjoy investing and sharing our knowledge.

We do NOT:

  • intend to provide you concrete investment advice on what shares or funds to buy,
  • manage a portfolio
  • give personalised investment advice.
  • recommend any product for which we would have received any financial or other advantage.

We might give our opinion on financial products but please take this for what it is intended to be: a mere personal opinion and not a concrete advice. In individual investing, you make your own decisions.

In order to do this, a seasoned investor needs to inform her or himself from several sources and to form her or his own opinion and it is to this we hope to contribute with this website.

The hope that savings can be invested in a magic product, that will make you a wealthy woman or man, on short notice, without any effort from your side, will most probably be delusional.

In the investment business, most people are out to make money FROM you and that does not automatically imply making money FOR you.

As this website is free and we like travelling, it is also probable that you will occasionally not receive updates from us for a shorter or longer period. After all, investing is for us not a goal in itself but a means to allow us to travel around the world. Travelling is a fantastic experience that we recommend to all our readers. It opens your mind and we find it one of the most fulfilling experiences in life. Whilst observing the world as an investor, It also helps you in making your investment decisions. (Well maybe not so much from the beach in Benidorm…)

The intended set-up of this website is as follows:

  • on the website, you will find basic information about investing, as I see it and I have experienced it.
  • We will regularly adapt and complete this information, thus it can be worthwhile to check this information from time to time. This website is intended as an ongoing project.
  • on the blog, we will regularly, the goal is monthly, publish messages on the economic, financial and sometimes political news from an investor's perspective. This blog also may include our personnal, subjective views on political and financial decisions which you may agree with or not. Please take them for what they are: our personnal views.

We hope this website can contribute to a better understanding and reflection on investing that will help you enjoy a more prosperous and happy life.
